Pin & Unpin Windows
Some of the MERL interface is customizable by moving windows, hiding (minimize) windows and expanding hidden windows in the workspace. In Roadsoft, the terms most used for describing moving windows are “docking” and “undocking”. See Dock & Undock Windows for help with this feature.
The label in MERL for expanding and hiding windows is “auto-hide”; however, the terms most used for describing this feature are “pin/pinning” and “unpin/unpinning”. Pinned windows appear in the interface as “tabs”. Any window with a pushpin icon in the top right corner of the header can be pinned or unpinned. Multiple windows can be tabbed in the same place and will form a tab bar. The tab bar will change locations depending on the number of tabs in the bar.
Unpin a Window
Select the pushpin icon in the top right corner of the header to hide the window.
The pushpin icon rotates to a horizontal position and the window is minimized to a tab. Hover the mouse over the tab to view the unpinned window.
Pin a Window
Hover over the tab with your mouse to expand the window.
Select the horizontal pushpin icon.
The pushpin rotates to a vertical position and the window is pinned open in the current workspace. In some workspaces, only one window can be pinned open at a time.
